Laminated Glass
Laminated glass is a process whereby a thin vinyl layer is sandwiched between two pieces of glass using heat and pressure. Laminated glass is primarily used for its safety, security and sound reduction benefits. Laminated glass may crack upon impact, but the glass fragments adhere to the plastic interlayer rather than falling free and causing potential injury. This toughness and resilience makes this glass an excellent safety glazing option. |
Laminated glass can also add to the sound insulating of your property due to the glass being 6.4mm instead of the standard 4mm. This may become benifical if you live on a main road or a busy street where noise polution is a problem.
Be sure to mention this option to us if you feel you could benefit from this option is the more vulnerable locations in your property.
