Low Emission Glass

Guardian 1.4D Low emission glass (low-E) is a clear glass It has a microscopically-thin coating of metal oxide applied to the inside pane. This allows the sun’s heat and light to pass through the glass and into the building, at the same time it blocks heat from leaving the room, therefore reducing heat loss considerably.

This type of glass was once an optional extra, but now a standard option when we are installing Windows and Doors in the main dwelling of your home since it became compliant in April 1st 2002. This is one of FENSA's strict requirments on all replacement window and door installations. We currently have 3-4 random inspections a month by the BBA (British Board of Agrement) to ensure the correct glass is being used.
